The name JSHTAYLORA is a combination of my full name Joshua Taylor Aldrich, and yes I intentionally left out the letter “O”. I am a passionate photographer and videographer specializing in action sports. I grew up in the small town of Keizer Oregon surrounded by some of the most beautiful terrain in America. To the east stands Mt. Hood at 11,250 ft. where I found a passion for skiing and snowboarding at the early age of 3. To the west is the most rugged coastal region on the West Coast. After high school I made the move down to Phoenix Arizona to study marketing, communications and digital film. While at university I began falling more in love with the fast pace of action sports, and the challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone to capture beautiful imagery. For the past two and a half years I have been a nomad of the west building spectacular relationships and creating beautiful images where ever and when ever I can.
My goal is to capture the heart of athletes by showcasing their stories and progression in their sport.

For me photography is about listening to people, capturing them in a way that hasn’t been seen, and sharing their stories through a visual lens. I am drawn to the extreme nature of action sports and the sacrifice that athletes make every day to continue to follow their dreams. The dedication and perseverance is far greater than just the blood, sweat and tears, but the journey of the heart, mind and soul. On each assignment I like to create a visual story and throughout the shoot, focusing on each moment capturing specific details, which end up being just a fragment of the full story.
